Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Club

WVH Kids Eat Smart Breakfast program starts tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016! Food provided is free and will be a “Grab and Go” style offering fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese sticks and fruit juice. As well once a week we hope to offer a hot breakfast choice to help our student get off on the right foot!

As well our school will be participating in a Breakfast Blitz, to help fill our KES Cupboards, on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.  We are asking you to please send along a breakfast item or a donation to support our school’s Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Program.  If you wish you may make your donation online at www.kidseatsmart.ca and designate our school to receive your gift.   It’s important that we fill our KES cupboards to ensure our students start their days well nourished and ready to learn.

Tutoring for Tuition

The Tutoring for Tuition program is now underway at WVH and we are now looking for Learners who have a need for tutoring in one or more subjects. If you are struggling in a particular topic and need some help, our tutors are available at lunch, after school, and possibly can meet with you during class time when you have non-core subjects. They can also help you get that personalized attention during after school teacher led tutorials. This is a free service for the learner.

If you want to be paired up with a tutor, please contact Mrs. Hounsell or Mr. Nobert by email or in person.

Sharing our Cultures

This year’s Sharing our Cultures fair is starting it’s initial planning stages and so we are looking for any International Students or students whose families come from another country or culture other than Canada who might be interested in working with students from similar backgrounds to create and display information about that country or culture.

The actual Sharing our Cultures event isn’t until next March but the first meeting to start planning is this coming Tuesday in Mr. Nobert’s room (325) at lunchtime.

As well, any French Immersion students who might be interested in acting as Bilingual Tour Guides and earning Career Volunteer hours at the same time should attend the meeting.
